House 12

This new building site presented us with quite a challenge. The site was north-facing, but the view was situated in the southeast. We wanted the owners to enjoy their beautiful mountain view in the east, and their ocean view in the south!

On top of that the site also sloped quite dramatically, and the new homeowners needed their home to be a single level construction (no stairs inside the home). However, these challenges were nothing that our team of innovative architects in the Western Cape couldn’t handle!

We solved the site orientation problem by creating two north-facing wings, and one diagonal southeast-facing wing which intersected on the site. It formed beautiful courtyards, perfect for wind protection, while simultaneously maximising the views of the mountain and the ocean. We also brought in the client’s character through our finishing and the textures that were used. These homeowners were thrilled with the outcome.

They feel that their new home reflects their personalities perfectly!
